Description

This striking pair of earrings is called Eperā óó. It means The path of the Emberā. The Emberā-Chamí people are fighters and survivors. Holding onto their ancestral customs and traditions, they have managed to keep their culture alive even when they have found themselves displaced from their ancestral territories.

 The Emberā-Chamí are a very spiritual people, they believe that everything and everyone has a soul, as a result their pieces are highly symbolical. The patterns always carry a specific meaning, they are an open window into the Emberā-Chamí, history, culture and traditions.

The colors have specific meanings to the Emberá-Chamí. White, Chïtör, symbolizes peace, light and purity. Blue, pacuarā, symbolizes the skies, water and space.
