Description

This gorgeous pair of earrings is called Fursirü, a type of flute used exclusively by the Shaman or Jaibaná, the spiritual leader of the tribe. This flute is used during healings and other important ceremonies. It is meant to bring protection and good energy to the Emberā-Chamí people.

The Emberā-Chamí are a very spiritual people, they believe that everything and everyone has a soul, as a result their pieces are highly symbolical. The patterns always carry a specific meaning, they are an open window into the Emberā-Chamí, history, culture and traditions.

The colors have specific meanings to the Emberā-Chamí. White and silver, Chïtör, symbolize peace, light and purity. Red, chipür, symbolizes the Emberā-Chamí race.
