This piece represents Kirisia, which translates to common thought. It represents the universal connection between ancestral peoples. How they all share commonalities in their interactions and relations to people and planet. However, Kirisia, could also be interpreted as the universal language of humanity, where the values of love, respect and mutual support are considered the building blocks of harmonious human relationships.
The colors have specific meanings to the Emberā-Chamí. Chikuarā, yellow, symbolises the sun, gold, abundance and happiness. White/grey, chïtör, represents light, purity and spirituality.
