Description
Jamo Ambuarā, means all united. This symbol represents the unity of the Emberā-Chamí as a people and the unity of indigenous communities in general. Indigenous peoples have had to fight for the protection of their lands and rights. They know that together they are stronger than separated. This piece pays homage to indigenous strength and resilience.
The colors have specific meanings to the Emberá-Chamí. White/silver, chïtör, symbolises peace, light and purity. Black, chipār, symbolises wisdom and protection. Blue, pacuarā, symbolises the skies, water and space.
